Yep, It's All We Need



I can't write about love without the Beatles song "All You Need is Love" coming to mind. "There's nothing you can make that can't be made.

The Lovers is a card of choice and decisions that have to do primarily with love. I say primarily because if The Lovers comes up in any other type of reading such as career or finance, it would show simply a decision to be made in that regard. When looking at the Rider-Waite version of the Lovers it has a striking similarity to the Devil Card. The trees on either side of the man and woman were their tails in the Devil card. The tails suggested lust, while the trees hold both the passion and promise of growth. The snake represents the decision that is before them. The sun and angel suggest happiness and pureness of love that will rise above the clouds of uncertainty. In this picture the lovers are standing apart hands open, looking upward for guidance.

When using the energy of The Lovers card, you will want to focus on what issues are keeping you from making a decision within a relationship, or what is keeping you apart from another person. By working with your intuition, you can release the fears that hold you back from forming a closer union with another person. The real decision, whether it be about a relationship or another matter in your life, is whether you should choose to hold onto the fear born from ego, or release this to the energy of your higher self. Once you can distinguish between the two energies, the answer of your inquiry will become quite obvious to you. The color green, which represents the heart chakra is the best color to use when focusing on the energy of The Lovers. Rhodochrosite, which is a deep pink stone, is the crystal of the soul mate, and Rose Quartz which is a very pale pink, is the crystal of love. These would be the best choices for your stone. Rose oil or a rose scented candle will also enhance your meditation experience

This is a picture of my drum. I went outside today at noon and drummed for 15 minutes. The sky got darker and sure enough rain drops started to fall. I am not egotistical nor have I become delusional enough to think that I am so" powerful" that this was my own doing. I would like to think that it was a result of a collective power of thought aimed at easing the fires in Colorado which was done by many people all over the country, all in their own unique way. I am skeptical as I see that storms are and have been in the forecast for today and the next day or two after that. Anyone who watches the news, reads the paper or has a smart phone need only to have looked to see that information which has been out there since yesterday at least. There are scientific explanations for what mother nature will do next. Is it possible that collective thought process can manipulate the timing of the expected? Coffee Bean Divination

I went to a great book store the other day called "Upstart Crow." They have some wonderfully fun books that are offbeat. I could easily spend the better part of a day just browsing through all they have to offer. I bought 2 really fun books on knitting, one by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (a self proclaimed yarn harlot!) who puts humor into knitting and draws life lessons from it as well. I will write more about that in my other blog specifically for knitters so as not to bore the rest of the readers. The other book I bought is called "Cafe Nation." It's a book about the history, folklore and magick of coffee! The book includes recipes, potions and shows you how to brew Turkish coffee which apparently is a must for coffee magic. The book includes a unique divination system you can learn using coffee beans. It is modeled on the ancient I Ching method of divination. I love the I Ching sometimes known as The Book of Changes.
