Ok you have to be a somewhat of a Beatle's fan to have gotten that title but I just had to do it.

Soul Contract

If we believe that we are more than our mortal selves then we know that "we" go on beyond this life we call human. Before we came to walk the path of earth human we existed in other forms including past human lives. The theory behind destiny is that as soul entities we chose this particular path on planet Earth that we recognize as our lives. We chose the journey we would experience on this Earth and the level of "difficulty" did not matter. Where we were or what form we were before this lifetime in is unknown to us on this Earth plane because humans cannot yet fathom all there is to the universe that exists beyond us. Death for the soul is merely leaving the human body behind and moving off to the next place wherever that may be. Because soul cannot "die," leaving the human body is simply a release for the soul and nothing more making death irrelevant.

Destiny is the path chosen by soul. The soul will choose whatever path that would be a meaningful experience this time around. Therefore, it's no surprise that soul would choose a path of a lifetime of sickness or other hardship, as soul seeks to learn and experience. Emotion plays no part in that process. Once soul is attached to the body, it seems incomprehensible that someone would chose to physically suffer throughout their lives but it was the choice made. One needs to go beyond logic and intellect to a higher place. Not many can do that. Those that do, know there is a soul path. It was the contract soul made to self. Whether the soul contract is part of a higher plan is irrelevant. The term Universe is used widely among the spiritual because there is no implication of emotion or feeling like there is with the term God which often evokes the image of a paternal loving man. God is a very simplistic concept that is best suited for children in order to understand that there is more to us all then our existence in the here and now. Life becomes meaningless when we merely live for the day, satisfy our basic needs, and attempt to get by with as little work as possible. Spiritual growth is the work I am referring to. That is the beauty of the soul relationship to one who is not afraid to learn the lesson. Each person involved in a soul connection is there to learn a lesson from the other. It is an equal exchange of knowledge and each lesson is equally difficult. The lesson to be taught by the soul partner is not as simple as how to compromise (you cook, I'll clean) or how to live in a style you never have before (wow I never had a dog and all that responsibility before, this is a great lesson for me). Amusing really. "My soul mate taught me the value of living with a dog and how cool it really could be when before I was a dog hater" ROFLMAO If only it was that easy we could all do this and I would be out of business tomorrow. The lesson of the soul partner is so much more personal and goes to the core of self. It is in large part what you came here for and by fulfilling your soul contracts here you are growing in awareness and spirit. It is the challenge of your life here. Sadly, many decide to take a pass and go about their lives with sententiousness that is a classic example of ego running the show.

Life becomes meaningless when you go about living your life as if there is no higher purpose or calling, as if you are not soul, but rather pure ego determined to exercise your free will above all else. This is understandable of course, as free will is the easier way out. Some ego driven humans feel it's better to gratify the ego in the here and now rather than to strive for growth of soul. Creating projects and endless activities for ourselves is merely busy work for the ego as it hides from the soul. Ego driven people don't grasp the concept that we don't have to create meaning for our lives, it was there before we were born. It was of our choosing. Engaging in activities does not make our lives worthwhile. It is only by stepping back to a place of silence and inactivity that can we hear the voice of the soul. Buddha taught us that.

There are those who fear that voice so much that they will come to the conclusion that they should just focus on the easier things in life and forget about the desires that heat up the soul because it's just too hard. Important desires that are frustratingly not met, are cast aside because of fear of pursuing them. Is it that the fear of failure is too great or is it rather that you feel you are undeserving of what your soul desires? Sadly, ego is the greatest illusionist of all. The soul lazy humans out there are blinded by it. Being soul lazy exacts a terrible price to those who truly are aware. They enter into the same relationship with different people who are not right for them thus repeating the karma over and over and all the while taking the risk of losing their soul mate. Additionally, those who are "aware" but choose to be soul lazy are subject to depression and can find themselves involved in addictions such as drugs, alcohol or co dependent relationships. Their lives become as surreal as some of the lyrics John Lennon wrote when he was dropping acid.
